Here’s an interesting idea. The Submarine is a sort of, auxiliary pickup, that works on just one or two of your strings. The idea being that you could send the output of just those strings through different pedals or to a different amp to get a wider palette of sounds from your guitar.
The obvious application, as demoed below is to send the bass strings through some kind of octave effect. But you could do anything really, or even put them under your treble strings. A similar idea is the “a Little Thunder” pickup which adds the octaved bass note effect directly from within the pickup.
